Iris Photography Foundation organized their 1st All India digital Salon 2018 under the patronage of Federation of Indian Photography (2017/FIP/200/2018). There were 6 Sections, i.e. Monochrome, Color, Photo Travel, Candid, Portraiture and Figure Study.
Our honorable juries were:
We received 2652 no of works from 167 entrants from 17 different states from all over India. We received 600 photographs in Monochrome section, 637 photographs in Color section, 617 photographs in Photo Travel section, 396 photographs in Portraiture section, 314 photographs in Candid section and 88 photographs in Figure Study section. Our honorable juries selected 153 photographs in monochrome section, 170 photographs in color section, 113 photographs in Photo Travel section, 90 photographs in Portraiture section, 42 photographs in Candid section and 33 photographs in Figure Study section. There were total 67 awards including 6 FIP Medal, 6 Iris Gold Medal, 6 Iris Silver Medal, 6 Iris Bronze , 1 Iris Medal each in Best Landscape; Best Creative; Best Festival; Best Still Life; Best Human Interest, 30 Certificate of Merit, 6 Chairman's Choice Certificate, 1 Iris Trophy for Best Author and 1 Iris Trophy for Best Club.
FIP Gold Medal in for the best Monochrome photograph awarded to Mr. Vinod Chauhan for his picture “Hustler”, FIP Gold Medal in for the best Color photograph awarded to Mr. Arkaprabho Das for his picture “Mountain of Chocolate”, FIP Gold Medal in for the best Photo Travel photograph awarded to Debasish Ganguli for his picture “Miles To Go”, FIP Gold Medal in for the best Portrait photograph awarded to Subrata Adhikary for his picture “Grand Ma”, FIP Gold Medal in for the best Candid photograph awarded to Krishnendu Singha Roy for his picture “ Have A Breakfast” and FIP Gold Medal in for the best Figure Study photograph awarded to Parthasarathi Dhar for his picture “Silence Music”. Mr Suniel Marathe awarded Iris Best Author Trophy and Fotorbit India won the Iris Best Club award.
The exhibition was held on 20th April 2018 at Noty Binodini Memorial Art Gallery, Star Theatre, Kolkata. Prof. Biswatosh Sengupta graced the occasion as a chief guest. Mr. Amitava Sil, vice president of Federation of Indian Photography and eminent photographer Mr. Shib Nath Basak were present as our special guests. There were 29 medal winner's prints displayed along with 2 photographs each of our honorable juries. There was also a digital show of 601 photographs duration of approx 1 hour. The exhibition continued till 21st April 2018. We had distributed medals and certificates during our exhibition days to those award winners were present at exhibition hall.
We had posted all awards to the winners from 27th April 2018 via registered post. Our entire award winners had received their awards.
We are very much thankful to Federation of Indian Photography for allowing us to organize Iris 1st all India Digital National Salon 2018. Iris Photography Foundation expresses sincere gratitude to our honorable juries for their support and help. We are grateful to our webmaster Mr. Avik Shee for his kind support, otherwise it is not possible to run smoothly as we did.
